WE LIVE FOR MAGIC

We live for the lights, the music, the food, the learning, the inspiration, and the togetherness. We live for positive change and transformative experiences that blaze a path toward endless possibilities. The awesome potential of every event keeps us on our toes and, sometimes, knee-deep in caffeine. But the magic of pulling it all off? Totally worth it.

WE GET IT DONE

Last minute request? Done. Idea about how to do something better? Done. Guest who wants something we’ve never heard of—now, if possible? Done. And done. YES is the answer. Determination, creativity and teamwork are how we deliver on it.

Some days are busier than others

On days when we have a busy event schedule, we always encourage guests to use TriMet MAX light rail, the Portland Streetcar and TriMet buses for the easiest arrival and departure experience. All have stops right outside the convention center for easy transit connectivity.

If you plan to drive, please allow for ample time to park before your event.

Parking and directions

Do you need driving directions and parking information? How to get around using public transit? Or want to know where you can secure your bike?

Arrive with an appetite!

Portland’s reputation for great food and drink is renowned, and we're no exception. A world of delicious and healthy culinary options await you. Coffee, tea or kombucha? Hey, you're in the Pacific Northwest. You can enjoy local beer on tap, wine, and spirits too!

See what's open

You'll find water bottle fill stations at our water fountains if you carry a reusable container — which we encourage!

As a reminder, outside food and beverages are not allowed in the convention center, and you may be asked to return items to your car if you bring them inside with you. All food and beverage services are provided exclusively through our in-house catering partner, Levy.

Put our service to the test

We want everyone to feel welcome, safe and well-served during their visit. You'll find info on everything from Wi-Fi to ATMs to Sensory Bags to suites for nursing mothers on our Guest Experience & Amenities page.

Learn more

If you need mobility assistance to make your visit easier or more comfortable, please stop by the Welcome Desk on the Lobby Level to checkout a wheelchair or electric scooter.

Equipment can be reserved in advance or checked out while on site. To reserve in advance, call our OCC Welcome Concierge at 503-731-7800.

Public Safety

If you notice anything or anyone that makes you uncomfortable, please notify OCC staff by calling 503-731-7849 or dialing “7575” from any of the house phones located throughout the facility.

Be smart. Keep your valuables with you at all times. Don't leave them in your car, and lock the doors before heading to your event.

Storage of personal and other items

The convention center does not provide storage areas or lockers for any personal or event-related items to event attendees. You must check with your event's organizers to determine if they are providing storage for any items.

Lost and found

Sometimes you just forget where you set your phone, or you leave your coat on the back of a chair. Lost and found items are tagged, cataloged and stored for 30 days. After that, unclaimed items are donated.

If you’ve lost something, call OCC Welcome Concierge at 503-731-7800 or email a detailed description to GuestExperience@oregoncc.org. If you’ve found an item, it can be turned in to any staff member, or at the OCC Welcome Desk located in the MLK Jr. Lobby

Please provide a detailed description of the item you lost. If you happen to have a photo of your missing item, it will help us identify it.

Animals

Our animal friends are the best, but animals are not permitted on the convention center grounds. This includes therapy or anxiety pets. Only animals trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability, through a specific action, are allowed.

Balloons and flying objects

Balloons bring joy to the faces of many, but due to our high ceilings and exposed rigging, please choose another way to celebrate. No helium (or lighter-than-air) balloons are permitted inside the venue.

Visitors are not permitted to bring any flying objects—including drones—into the venue or onto the convention center grounds without the express permission of the Executive Director.

Alcohol consumption

We love our beer, wine and spirits in Portland, but we also want everyone to enjoy their visit in a safe and friendly atmosphere. An alcoholic beverage may only be consumed in the area where it was purchased.

Smoking

The OCC is a non-smoking venue. This includes e-cigarettes, vaporizers and all smokable substances. Smoking is permitted outside the facility only in designated areas.

Thank you! We hope you enjoy visiting with us at the Oregon Convention Center!
