In an ongoing effort to protect our staff and community, particularly those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19, the Oregon Convention Center will remain closed in accordance with executive order, No. 20-07 issued by Governor Kate Brown, Monday, March 23, 2020.
On Friday, March 20, 2020, in partnership with the Multnomah County Joint Office of Homeless Services and public health officials, OCC opened our doors to temporarily shelter our most vulnerable neighbors. This additional space, approximately 60,000 square feet, allows up to 140 beds to aid area shelters in providing proper social distancing while supporting those in need. A reservation-based emergency shelter, all available beds are assigned to individuals without COVID-19 symptoms by referral from an existing shelter provider.
