Travel Portland |
Travel Portland is
an independent nonprofit destination marketing
organization with more than 1,000 business members.
Its mission is to strengthen the region's economy by
marketing the Portland area as a preferred
destination for meetings, conventions and leisure
travel. The work of Travel Portland's Convention
Sales Department, combined with that of the hotels
and the Oregon Convention Center (OCC), is designed
to create a healthy convention business climate. The
relationship between these partners is symbiotic and
productive: hotels work on booking smaller,
one-hotel pieces of business, while Travel Portland
concentrates on multi-hotel meetings and citywide
conventions. The OCC books short-term business
(occurring within the next 18 months), while Travel
Portland
sets its sights on long-range business (conventions
